WiMAX

Lets start the week with a tech..For more info about the protocol stacks please read through my BOK"WiMAX" is an acronym that stands for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access. It is a technology used for last mile broadband access as an alternative to DSL and Cable. It provides wireless mobile broadband connectivity without need for a direct line of sight to a base station. It is designed to operate on both licensed and license exempt radio spectrum. License exempt systems can be installed anywhere inside the country without obtaining license from regulatory authorities. This means that the operator can manage the spectrum which he is operating and can manage the quality of service.According to Samsung and Intel there is a specific roadmap for the evolution of thetechnology. According to them by 2008 the WiMAX enabled dual mode mobile handsets would be available in the European market.
